Paxton Makes The Origin Squad

St Ives Roosters full back John Paxton has been selected to represent the South of England in this Saturdays Origin fixture against the North of England. The game will be played at Oldham St Annes RLFC.

After the East of England v West of England trial fixture a squad of 31 players was selected to attend a training session at Oxford Cavaliers RLFC. After the session the squad was reduced to the 19 players who will represent the South's.

The first two Origin fixtures were held at Coventry and Hemel with the South's being victorious on both occasions. This years game is the first to be held in the North and it has the makings of a tough encounter.

Paxton will play in his third consecutive origin fixture which is a remarkable achievement.

Also involved on the day will be Roosters Head Coach Ian Hill and former Roosters Coach Mark Whalley who are both part of the South's coaching team.
